Yes, that is correct. I have even found a 3rd QH specimin boxed as a " QFP 32" shown as "TR7 2.0L and Dolly 1850 " complete with a receipt for £11.97 ! This also has the long arm with the code 7990487, and the thick block spacer and passes the graph paper test above. The 1976 par... |

Yes, I can confirm those numbers . 7990047 for the short arm early pump ( Q.H. QFP 32 ) and 7990487 for the later pump with the longer arm. ( QFP33 ). It's interesting that the boxed Q.H. pumps have A.C. Delco numbers on the arms  I enclose a sketch ... |

Hi David, Yes, I see what you mean. Oh dear that burr is more than likely going to saw its way through the cam on the jackshaft. My first choice would be to send it back and get a replacement. 2nd choice would be a careful grind to remove the burr.
Hope you get a good result,
Tony. |

Hi David, Yes, I agree that looks very much like the long arm pump. I reckon the area of the pump where the operating cam bears is also quite close. Here is a photo of my old one from some time back. The shiny area between the 2 Snopake markers is where ... |

Hi David, The above link is good. While you have the pump off the block I would do 2 things. If you operate the pump lever by hand does it pump fuel ? If you put a torch onto the cam for the fuel pump lever in the block is it smooth or is ... |

This version of the "early" fuel pump is shown in the diagrams in the early Dolomite 1850 workshop manual in sections 19.45.05 to 19.45.15. It then shows a picture of the "standard early" fuel pump. So I imagine it was also fitted to the Sprint as well.

MY opinion - and it is just that - is that I wouldn't fit that pump on my car! Not only is the length different but the height of the end of the arm, relative to the pump body is also different, possibly by more than 4mm, it's difficult to tell! This could ... |

If the fuel pump pressure on the 1850 or Sprint is too high it can be adjusted down by fitting extra paper gaskets between the casting and the block, according to the manual. Not sure if its the same on the 1500 ??
