I'm looking for a Payen head gasket for a Sprint engine. Does anyone have one that will be going to Hatton Country World on Sunday? If not does anyone have one to sell via post or near enough to CV8 for me to collect? Ill be at the show in my van :(

Cheers

Tony

Tony, after we spoke, I went looking for my Elring one, and found a Payen one next to it. Theres a slight kink in it where the bit that seals the top of the timing cover springs off the main body, but I think that will compress out during fitting.

Just to add, I bought a gasket off Alun and it is now fitted :). Also I bought one from Rimmers to check it was the same and it appears to be(albeit quite expensive). I'll use the Rimmers one on the next build I'm doing.

Cheers

Tony

I emailed them only a couple of days ago about that very question. (Although I was asking about an 1850 head gasket)

This was his reply

Hello Shaun
The gaskets are not as good as Payen, but they are ok, and we use them in our engine builds without any issues.

I asked Robsport the question too. They said the sprint one was the last one and was from one of their suppliers not from payen direct. I passed on that one and went for the rimmers one so we'll see how it goes.

Tony,

I bought a Payen Sprint head gasket from Rimmers, it’s very good quality! So I bought a second as a spare.

Chris.

Yes Chris Im fairly happy with the look and feel of it. The slightly tacky/shiny surface looks oem. Getting spares is a good idea :)

Is this a Payen one then, or more likely to be one not directly from Payen if you get my drift Tony?

I wasnt convinced so I got the rimmers one. They (robsport/numpty9) told me it was the last one they had and was from a supplier of theirs, so could be real or not. I like robsport and their service so I didnt want to get into a battle if it wasnt what I was expecting.
