I need a 21 tooth replacement speedo pinion drive gear (supposedly green) if anyone has a decent used one or a NOS one hanging around anywhere?

I think that one has had it!

Cheers, Sam

Sam should have noted that this gear is for a BW65 Auto trans, so unlikely that O/D services would even list it.

AS I said on your resto thread Sam, try Harvey of this Forum, he's an Auto specialist!

I have a green one, but it only has 19 more vertically orientated teeth.

I have a 21 toothed diagonally cut one, but it is black.

Reckon the number and shape of teeth is probably more critcal than the colour!

I did PM you but i've worked out where is was in the box! I have pulled the gear from my spare sprint / 1850 box and it's 21 tooth but Red in colour.

Still on the hunt for a 21 tooth pinion gear.... both of the ones generously pulled from autoboxes by people on here (THANKS!) turned out to be 22 tooth. I'm going to use one of those to get me going and I'll check the speedo against GPS. In theory it should be less than 5% difference, but if I get the chance of a 21 tooth one I'd use that.

I have a number of spare BW 65 boxes in the shed, I'll have a look this weekend

the colour is for identification purposes, I have found that the extension housing sometimes has a red or green dab of paint on it which refers to the colour of the speedo drive.

Hmmmm, yes it may be worth trying him.......

I have got a Dolomite BW65 here, I'll go see if it has the speedo driven gear in it, and if so what colour it is.

I have a Dolomite 011 series BW65, it has a driven gear in it, I removed it, it is green, oh, and it has, let me see, oh yes, 21 teeth.....

Did you like the way I built up the suspense there?.....
