There's always the Hunter S Thompson packing list for a road trip of "two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.", but maybe a packet of menthol fags and wine gums would do?

:( Despite me making it clear that I would only accept enquiries from actual TDC members
and the fact that the car has clearly found a new home,
I am still getting enquiries from non-members.

Just to reiterate, I will not be replying to these.

thanks,

Ian.

The return trip should be more enjoyable.

Bruce is on his way.
The car is sounding good and it didn't take long for Bruce to be spinning the back wheels.

The weather is really rotten here which is disappointing after having enjoyed over one month of lovely sunshine.
The windscreen wipers will be doing overtime :) .

You're not wrong Ian, I'm currently overnighting in north Yorkshire, 400 plus miles down, about 150 to go.

The car has behaved impeccably, including extended periods at 3500 rpm in 5th.

Should any paperwork appear from the Police, please forward my details.

Appears to be doing close to 40 mpg

Glad your journey went fine Bruce.

 3500 rpm in fifth equates to about 80 mph I think.
At a steady 60 mph the fuel consumption should be over 40 mpg.
The T9 conversion is good on a slant four.

And we're home, 600 plus miles completed, about 1 1/2 tanks of fuel used, and a stupid big smile on my face, thanks again Ian
