1972 Dolomite, Mot'd until next August in good running roadworthy condition.
I will accept a donation of £100 cash, (or £110 Paypal) for Click Sargeant (Scotland) from a TDC member.
Car must be collected by 16th October 2016.
If you are expecting an original immaculate car, then read no further.
It is rough and far from standard.
I am the third owner of the car.
The first (who stayed in Northern Ireland) had it until 2005 and I have owned it since 2007.
It sports an age related Edinburgh number plate now, the NI number having lapsed.
(I believe the car was unused from 1985 until 2005.)
1854cc engine. Stromberg carbs. 58K miles.
Ignition system improvements include a 123 distributor, Magnecor leads and a Bosch ignition coil.
Clutch has only done a few thousand miles and has a lightweight Saab cover.
Cooling system has a Saab radiator, silicone hoses, Volvo 850 header tank (with low level warning fitted),
Evans Powercool 180 coolant, Revotec 28cm cooling fan and an electric water pump.
The EWP is properly installed using a remote thermostat (giving the correct heater performance).
Gearbox is a Type 9 five speed. This is a little slow to select second when changing down.
The bespoke propshaft has a Ford Transit centre mount.
The back axle is standard.
The exhaust has a stainless steel centre box and SS Sprint twin tail pipe section.
(There is a resonant vibration at 40 - 45 mph.)
The body shell is good underneath. I fitted sills and repaired the inners in 2008.
The front wings and front panel are GRP. The outer door bottoms all have been replaced.
Much of it is brushed painted using tractor paint (David Brown chocolate).
The wheels are Minator minilte copies fitted with Vredstein 175/70 x 13 tyres.
(The spare is a Sprint alloy with an unused tyre)
Front brakes are a Trackerjack conversion using proper braided hoses.
New Spax adjustables and HD standard springs were fitted last year.
(annoyingly the lower bushes of the back shockers squeak!)
The car is located in Caithness in northern Scotland.
