Does anybody want this exceptional manual 1850.

bodywork - boot shot, wings shot, cills shot, drivers door missing, front windscreen cracked. Couple of the doors are OK. I also have a spare hood and two metal wings at least one would be OK with a bit of fettling, a GRP wing in good condition and a split lower valance. Some other bits of trim missing.
Please note :- I will be removing the front bumper before the car is taken away.

Interior - basically shot apart from the carpets. The seats are faded except for the drivers seat which needs a new membrane.
The parcel shelf is in two bits. The door cards are of varying condition but all of the cappings are there.

Steering - basically shot, more play than a football match and I have had the rack adjuster plate.

Gearbox and drive train - Seems OK but I have only moved it in and out of the garage. Looks like someone has put in new clutch master and slave cylinders (don't ask me why).

Brakes - Handbrake just about works but that's all.

Electrics - wiper motor missing and wiring all over the place.

Engine - It is from my other 1850 and has a noisy bottom end when changing gear. Otherwise OK. I have had it running so it may be driveable onto a trailer.

If anybody is interested please pm me in the next few days. I need it moving within the next week or so. If nobody wants it I will take off what I can and scrap it.

If you pick it up Alun, we can stash it in my yard!

Me too, I technically have space but it would be in the garden and realistically I'd end up breaking it.

I'm tempted as I quite fancy doing my first restoration. However just worried it might be a bit too much and there are too many parts missing - like doors!

I could include the red drivers door from my sprint. It is too bent to fit.

I don't know your skills but I really wouldn't recommend this as a first (or second!) project.

Sadly it does sound like it'll be past my current abilities. I can't weld yet and this is probably a bit too much to learn on?

Mechanicals are fine, bodywork I'm still learning.

Hi Alan, I know it is a bit late in the day, but do you still have a decent drivers side wing? Mine is starting to go in a line a few inches back from the leading edge. I have a mate in Blidworth who could probably collect.

Thanks,
Tim

Thats not the idea, if it was a gift to save the car and he has too many projects it should be gifted to someone else, that is the idea of any owners club, we all help each other not profit off other peoples good will.

On the face of it it seems we have somebody among us with a different moral compass.
Unless of course I am wrong and the seller will be splitting all profits (after eBay fees) between a donation to the club and the original owner? Nah, didn't think so.

Is there anything we can do to stop this sort of thing happening again?

At that price (£420) it could still end up on the track :(
