Gearbox and overdrive. My good friend Pete is (as I speak) building it up. Everything has been stripped/cleaned/checked and anything needing replacing has been. This is how he has built many gearboxes/overdrives for people, and always ends up with a sweet box.
The box will come without bellhousing/gearstick/angledrive etc

Can take to Stoneleigh

£395, no exchange required.

People will need to know if it is an early or late 1500 O/D as the later 1500 cars have a 1850 rear axle fitted so require a different ratio speedo drive to get the speedo to read correctly. They can be changed over but it is not something you want to find out once you have fitted the gearbox/O/D in the car.

The overdrive for the early 1500s is identified by 25/115867/**** and the later cars 25/115867/****.

If the person purchasing the gearbox/O/D is going to upgrade their car from the basic 1500 they may find my article on doing this of some use. It should come up is the discussion board is searched.

I think you mean:
...and the later cars 25/115868/****.

You are correct the later one is 25/115868. Sorry too much haste less speed.

Also worth noting it is a scroll type seal gearbox, I think these are used on cars up to 1977ish? but of course, can be fitted to any 1300/1500. As to OD numbers, I can check, but it may take a while.
It will be up at Stoneleigh if anybody wishes to speak to the builder/seller
