I've moved this thread here because it is a "for sale" thread.

So how much are they and what wiring modifications would be needed to enable the use of a heated front screen ?

I'd have hoped that whoever was making these items would have a solution for fitting them already, rather than leaving it up to the ingenuity of the customer....

I have spoken to Robbo about these a while back. The heated ones comprise of 2 elements one either side, so they can be wired separately and switched on when needed.

Won't the wipers damage the one on the outside?

Re: switches.

I have found that some car seat heater switches have built in timers and temp cut out.

Have not looked at modern demist buttons/switches but may be similar and best suited to the job.

And yes I am sorting out the seat heaters on my sprint.

The rear one is surface mounted, so it matters not how long it is on for. The front ones are embedded, so to prevent overheating they need either a timer or a thermostat.

Had a quick look today,

and it seems on moderns they use a timed relay, with a momentary swtich such as

https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/12v-univ ... delay.html

could be useful for other projects too.
