Superb work as per.

Im using an LED strip similar to the way youve done yours, should have a better light output than the original too.

I bought the brake pipe set from Stevsons, the 1st pipe that goes from the 4 way splitter to the rear axle seems too long, bit of a pain as I need to now shorten the 2nd pipe, just need to find someone with a pipe flarer, or I haven't routed the pipe correctly, have a look-

Yes that first pipe is way to long. It should end just before the handbrake area with a union to the next bit which goes to the LSV.

Cheers for the comments.

Why is the pipe to the back axle in two pieces?

I think I will call Stevsons next week to see if they can either make me a shorter 2nd pipe or replace the 1st section, plus they need to know the set they are supplying is incorrect, unless mine is a one off mistake.

Nothing done today, family day at the Newbury show, great show by a Spitfire & Hurricane, shame the Lancaster didn't make it. Might do a bit tonight while the other half watches the new series of Downton Abbey, yawn.

Not being funny, but is it really wise to use a screwdriver to lock an axle stand?

Yeah it's fine, it's quite a chunky screwdriver, plus there is not much weight, engines not in yet.

Any enlightening comments about the brake pipes?

If I was nearer I would pop over and flare you a new pipe but it is a bit of a drive!

Cheers Lee, shame you're not closer would save me a bit of hassle. It's annoying when you plan to get something done & you can't finish it because the parts are wrong.

I have a flare kit, only up the road too... It's a cheapy, but it worked well on the kunifer pipes I made for the front of my car after rebuilding the calipers.
More than welcome to borrow it, though if you can get hold of a decent kit, I'd do that!

Hi again....

Tony,
if you have no joy with Stevsons,
PM your contact details and the length of pipe required, then one will find its way to you :) .

Thanks Ian, that is a kind offer, this forum really is a great place!

I need to get in the garage & take the measurement.

I will speak to Stevsons hopefully tomorrow as I met them at Beaulieu Autojumble a couple of weeks ago, they were selling Goodridge type braided flexi brake pipes. I didn't know that they can make up their own flexi pipes to any spec you like, so again I need to take some measurements, then I am going to get them to quote for flexi pipes to go from the rigid pipe under the front wing to the Sierra caliper on the trackerjack conversion I have. That way if I order those I am sure they will remake the front pipe which is wrong. If they don't you will be getting a PM.

Thanks

Tony

Yes I have seen this thread, I want to do something similar but with a single flexi from the caliper to the brake pipe fitting at the inner wing similar to merlind100? but I'd rather get something made up, I do not have enough experience to make my own.
