They certainly do. Easily solved by fitting 190Lb front Springs though!

Thanks John, what nice words. 8)

Bill, remember it's not a race to finish the car, as by the title of this topic you can see how long it's taken to get mine to where it is today. Keep the faith mate

Anyway, lovely ride out, in the Autumn sunshine. Only downer was my Best of Top of The Pops (1974) 8 track snapped :( .

Oh well, let's have a look at the pictures I took instead then eh? :)

The car's looking great, and look at that sky. I remember blue skies! :D

Not been in for a while, so I missed the final pictures.

Happy looks absolutely stunning - you should be proud of what you have acheived.

Remembering the original picture of that forlorn and unloved looking honeysuckle car, it's hard to believe this is the same one.

Time to update your "mytriumphdolomite" page, me thinks :-)

Its actual shade is:

Though how they arrived at that name for a shade that looks nothing like the plant it's named for.....

Sandglow looks like so:

Oops - my bad.

Many thanks for the correction.

You're welcome, I only mentioned it as I don't think that Sandglow is quite as well-suited to the Dolomite as Honeysuckle is. But obviously that would be a matter of taste and I probably just offended people who own Sandglow cars.

Hi Graeme, yes I would love to update the page, can you do it from these images or do you need me to send you it via email or something?

Just a little update...

I said that when I assembled the doors I noticed that the driver's quarter-light popped the new rubber seal out of the frame every time I opened and shut the window, I know someone else on here had the same problem with the same side (Mikeyb?) with their new seal.

So I hope this helps anyone who also finds the same problem?

Whilst I tried sticking the rubber seal down with Evo-Stik it still tended to "ping" out, so I have investigated further.

I discovered that the glass withing the stainless surround had dropped a fraction. This is probably a combination of age and the glass only being supported on two sides, the driver's side of course being the most used so gets more action/wear.

You could clearly see the line of where the glass once originally sat, so I removed the glass from the frame, cleaned off any old adhesive from the glass and the channel within the frame, put a thin layer of Araldite on both surfaces, I then put the glass back in, hammered the frame around it using a wooden mallet (returning the glass to it's original position within the frame).

I have now bound it up with tape whilst the adhesive takes it's 24 hours to set.

Grand unveiling tomorrow afternoon to see if this has cured the problem of the pinging rubber.

Thanks David  .

Will you be starting a topic on your car? I would love to know more about it's history and see the work you are planning to do.
