Just today acquired this project sprint. Would like to do a full restoration but not sure funds will stretch to that, so might start with trying to get it back on the road.
Hope I haven't taken on too much with this one, but will see how I get on.
Not sure how often this is going to get up dated, doesn't always seem to be enough hours in a day!
Might have to add pictures later! I am sure this worked last time!

It's ok. got it sorted!

Thought I would try and update this weekly, otherwise I can see it not getting done!
This week have removed and cleaned up rear suspension parts, including rear axle. Don't know why, but I really dislike cleaning up the axle
Only one problem so far, one trailing arm had rusted through. Not too bad! the parts bin was raided, and a replacement found.
See if I can get it all bolted back on this week.
Have added pictures, not sure how well they have come out.

Cracking progress..looks great. :) I also hated doing this job, in fact, I hated everything to do with the underside of when I did mine..yuk! Looks good when it's done though. 8)

Are you replacing the inner hub seals while it is off the car? If you are replacing them, I recommend you do it now..so much easier..I wish I had! #-o

Think it's the angle the photo was taken at!
Axle now back on car and all looks well.

Small update.

Rear axle now back on, needs tightening up fully, but on ok.
Now cleaning up engine bay and subframe, all looking ok structurally.

Thought the subframe had been unbolted from rear mounts, but after removal found rear bolts still in tight! can only assume cups have rusted away!

Short update!
Now have a running engine in, took a while to get it water tight!
Gearbox in, clutch seems to work ok. Road test to confirm.
Exhaust on, not 100% gas tight, but think it's ok.
Brakes all connected up, need to bleed them again, but they do work.
So, interior to reinstall. electric's to sort out and some body work required..EASY..! :D

This project blinking in the sunshine!

Must have made some progress on this! It now moves under it's own steam :D .
As can be seen, still some work required.
If/when this gets an MOT, it will be up for sale. Unless someone wants to take this on before I get any further!

have you got an interior for this and roughly how much would you want for it as it stands?

OOOPS!

Had to turn this around today, only way is to take it out onto the (private) road. So thought i would just take it a few yards down the road and try the brakes.
Tried them once then loads of smoke from under dash! quickly turned off and battery disconnected. Turned out to be the radio supply lead, not insulated and found an earth.
Only seems to have melted the sleeving off the first 8" or so of the wire, hope it hasn't melted anything I can't see! .
Is this feed not fused?
Oh well another lesson learnt...
