Last night while on nightshift here at the fire station we got a call from the police looking for a firefighter who is into classic cars. Turns out some ned high on drugs decided to kick in the door of my lockup. Luckily several of the nearby residents saw and reported it, so when the police quickly arrived ( thanks guys
) the idiot was found with the garage door on top of him and he was duly dragged from below by his ankles and slung in the back of a waiting police car. Now banged up over the holiday weekend till his court appearance next Tuesday morning.
I am glad now that I had decided to extend my rental of the workshop in Bishopton otherwise my Sprint would have been inside and no doubt badly damaged!
It did, however land on several doors and other panels before landing on the junkie within.
I will attempt to contact the neighbours who saw it and report it and also gave my details to the police in order to thank them. They all know that I am restoring my car and always ask about its progress so its nice to know that while I am not always at my lockup they are looking out for me. They may not fully understand why we classic car fans do what we do but its good knowing that they still support us in our endeavours!
