Hello. Thought I would post a thread on my car. As you see in the headline, I live in Norway. I've always been interested in older British vehicles. Have several Ford Cortina and Escort up time. I thought the time was now ripe to get me a triumph cars also.. ..... not only the motorcycle, as I have . Lucky as I was, I came across this 1974 sprint, and this only 50 km from my home . This is 1 of total 2 registered sprint in Norway. The car has 94,340 km on the counter-guaranteed The car was originally sold new in Germany, I'm 5 owner since new. It is original and untouched condition, runs great. Much of the suspension is already new, so here I come "cheap" away. Bodywork has fared very well over the years, only minor rust repairs needed, and new paint of course. Shall remain the original French blue. will try to update the thread, as the project goes forward. Tips and advice ............ If you can get a repair kit or a new pump from a saab dealer locally that would be a good plan. wiki article here... http://www.dollywiki.co.uk/wiki/Water_Pump_Overhaul Note that the impellor type goes with the cover so if you get a newer 12 vane pump you will need the right cover for it. I'm not sure what 99's had impellor wise as I have never done one. On a 99 the engine is the other way round with the gearbox at the front/ Jonners |

Today i put the impeller a turningmachine, cleaned up the contact area for the sealing. As i can see, this pump got the orginal spring tension type seal......i like this type of seal. Is it the same type of seal that comes with the rep-kit from rimmer?? Welcome, another one on the right side of the water. Are you genuine Norwegian or Dutch? Some litterally translated expressions and sayings in your posts are Dutch or the same as. Jeroen |

Yes.You may need to use a 12 vane 1850/Sprint water pump cover depending on the exact age of the Saab 99 pump in question. |

welcome to the forum, looks like you are getting stuck right into some of the jobs that usually give a lot of trouble. Great work. I've just smashed two water pump impellers getting them apart. I don't think you'll need to worry about the water pump on your daily mode of transport. Does your daily job involve raids on the east coast of England then ? Thanks for the pics and the progress reports. stu |

I love the French blue cars, that one looks in good condition. I guess you will have to travel abroad to drive the car when it is finished? Norway driving was too slow for me to enjoy! |

Yes, normal traffic is slow in norway. But there is alot of funny side-roades I guess you will have to travel abroad to drive the car when it is finished? Norway driving was too slow for me to enjoy! When i want to go real fast, i go to the track for some fun |
