Anyone know how many LHD sprint's made?
In total, 5226 Sprints were exported (RHD and LHD) and none after 1978, total production was 22.941. Exactly how many LHD were produced is not known...

I am thinking about running twin weber 40 dcoe on my standard engine, like the look and sound.
Should I do it? Or is it "no go" on a standard camshaft?

Beautiful car! It really is something special.

Re the Webers, others may have a different opinion but I'd stick with the SU's on a standard cam. The Webers aren't as fuel efficient and are a real pain to set up properly, apart from the noise there's no benefit.

I think webers are ok when you have a lairy cam and a nicely balanced bottom end so you can rev the car!

I see where you're coming from though, there's nothing like the sound of a pair of DCOE's

Hello. I am really happy finally driving around in my spring, really nice handling car.
A little soft with rimmer uprated springs for trackday use.
I got the GAZ adjustable ride / hight.
What about 350lb front and 200lb rear as a alround setup?
I don't want the car too low.
Where is the best place to buy new springs?
What dia and lenght should i go for?

More in action pics.
It is way to soft with 170lbs front springs for trackdays, but don't going to do anything about it this summer.
When the winter comes, lot's of mods waiting.
Going for 350lbs front and 200lbs rear. Front is also going to be lifted about 1".
Antirollbar rear is going off. For the front im going to fabricate a heavy duty one.
This summer.......rock and roll driving sprint.

Hi :bluewave:

Thanks a lot for great feedback :D
Im really enjoying driving the sprint, OD gearbox is something all car should have

Got at little issue, my diff is screaming. Someone had been "in there" before me, and i think my pinion height is wrong.
CanĀ“t get the tooth print correct on the crown wheel. There is also some china bearing i like to change to timken.

- What is the timken part numbers of the diff bearings? Like to buy them locally, to be shore of the originality quality.
- I don't got the special tool for setting the pinion height, but got equipment for measure the height. What is the correct measure height of the pinion?

Very few of us have the skills to rebuild Sprint diffs.

We tend to just replace them. We do occasionally change oil seals and half shafts, but I dont remember anyone ever setting one up
on a thread on here.

The procedure for repair is in the factory manual. Sure we can find and scan the pages if you need.

Thanks, but I got the manual. The problem is I don't got the factory pinion setting tool, and the actual pinion height / depth is not mention.
Have to do it the hard way then......in out shims, in out shims, in out shims, in out shims, in out shims....to get the correct tooth print.

As the Sprint uses the TR6/big Saloon diff, my guess is that the diff bearings are the same?

This site gives some Timken part numbers for the TR6 diff.

Isn't your car fitted with an LSD diff with 4.1 ratio?

All the best! :D

Hi. Thanks alot, giving that link :bluewave:

No, my car doesn't got a LSD, but was got a 4:11 ratio bad fitted when I've got it.
I put the original 3:45 back in, my thinking was then originality, but now change my mind after driving it.
To long geared for my use.

I think a 3.7 diff (from a Triumph 2000) will also go in that case if you don't want to go down to 4.11 again.
