At last the shotblasters have turned up to start!
These were the only ones that would do it at home for me, I'll post some pics later...Exited!

Blaster was very good

Time to call the welders in...

The company that did it was Steadblast in Stafford, very good very quick and very reasonable.

That looks great, how long did it take them?
Any points that they wanted sorted when they arrived that you hadn't thought about or prepared?
Was there a huge mess of blasting grit in the area when they had finished?

It only took them half a day to do, far faster than if I'd tried to do it myself, and to be honest, I just removed anything I didn't want blasting, but boy was there a mess!
The sand got everywhere and it took me a couple of hours to sweep it all away, the rain did the rest.
It worked well as it cleaned off all the crud and revealed a few weak areas underneath that I hadn't noticed before, a bit of a pain, but I'd rather know now, than after I'd painted it...

The sand is in all your boxed area's like sills etc. sticking at what someone did spray in in the past. Holding the moist from now. If i were you i would carfully check and clean and have a look with an endoscope in all the internals before any work is done. Sandblasting seperate panels or doors ok but a whole shell??

I didnt do the whole shell, the body was done by hand, the underside, boot and inderbonnet blasted

...underbonnet, sorry!
