Well here I go again,
I'm looking to start a long term restoration thread as and when funds allow, but for the here and now I just thought I would show you the very start of it.
I was lucky enough to stumble across this, whilst searching the ebay listings and I came across a rather rusty Triumph Dolomite 1500 that had been left standing outside for far longer than it should have done. The write up the present owner put together listed what was required to return it to the road, but added that he had an old sprint that he was looking to move on aswell, as he was looking to down size the number of classics he had.
So the inevitable enquiry was made, only to find that this particular sprint had been parked up 10 years ago and left to slowly gather dust and be forgotten about at the back of this rather large storage area, and after a number of photos were sent, showing her in all her rusty glory with a rather rare colour combination both external/internally.I weakened, put my rose tinted glasses on and made an offer.
Now I am aware that a number of welding issues will need to be resolved based on the photos already mentioned, namely the cills and chassis leg underneath the battery where it meets the Inner front panel to name a few, but given the inevitable increase in prices these cars now command in original and unmolested condition, I thought it better to buy an earlyish (01/04/74) original needing some tlc and repent at leasure.
Pictures to follow shortly
