The front ends of Terry the 1500HL's sills are rotten. I have been told to expect the worst and have to replace the whole sill. They rot outside in. Having chopped away enough of the equally rotten front wing, I was able to look into the sills. They are in very good condition, because one of the previous owners has waxoyled them. Done a pretty good job as well.

This however leaves me with a problem. Even a novice welder like me, knows that welder+waxoyl=big fire. So how on earth do I fix the end of the sills without burning the car to the ground?

An airline is less messy if you have access to one. Petrol/thinners/parrafin or similar is good for removing Waxoyl.
