Kind of a follow up questiom. Basically the front jacking points are no longer attached to the sill in any meaningful way. The centre section has rotted away from them, but is OK beyond that thanks to internal rustproofing.

To be honest I don't really want to bodge this. So I have three questions:

1)What sort of club panels are available to fix the front end of the sills? It would be a hell of alot easier to weld in prefabricated repair panels.

2)What gauge steel is the inner reinforcer if I have to make a front section to weld in? My guess in around 2mm looking at it, but exact figures would be good.

3) Has anyone got any pictures of the front jacking point without the out sill on, so I can figure out what goes where?

Thanks for any responses.

RE point no. 2.

You need to consider the shape used. It is possible to dramatically improve the strength of sheet metal by shaping,
for example, corrugated or box profile roofing.
The jacking points don't have a particularly thick section (I guess 1.2mm) but replacing with heavier is better than using lighter,
so, if in doubt, use thicker.

I just remade some jacking points front and rear and used 1.2mil, that was the original size (or at least when I measured.

Even for a novice it is fairly simple to fabricate repair panels for these, I did the inner strengthening (lower half, outer and the lower sill.

I just took my time and downed loads of tea! there are plenty of pictures on google images
