The engine is exactly the same as one on the Herald 13/60
No it's not.

Do you need the actually cover or just the seal?

As long as its not cracked or split you should be able to straighten it.
Part number for the cover is 213205.
The seal differs, if engine number is pre 56121 it is part number 100499 or
151057 for post engine No 56121.

Mick Dolphin list the cover at £15. and the later seal at £5.00. give him a call he may know what the differences in the seal
Rimmer list the 100499 at £5.60 .

I don't know and don't know anyone that does know why the lower gasket sets were called 'conversion sets', surely it would have made more sense just to call then lower engine gasket sets as there is no converting going on!
Yes there is, its called the conversion set because it covers all the sections of the engine where the up & down of the pistons is converted to round-and-round by the rods and crankshaft.

You'll need a puller to get the crank hub off, let me know if you need to borrow one

As a front wheel drive I was wondering if you had a spare inlet manifold for a single carb. Its for a 1500 engine but I'm sure our friendly club members will be able to say if it's the same manifold. Cheers, Mark.

 Its actually called a conversion set because it converts a head gasket set into a full engine set.... nice idea though...
