If you photoshop it you will see it would look a lot better with black hoses....

dives for cover....:-)

Why do you need 2 fan temp controllers? Or is that not one in the top hose joiner?

Remind us where the expansion bottle came from? Like that....

Really coming on and an interesting contrast to the repro originality of VHK.

I must admit building a custom Dolomite is a personal thing & I do sometimes think if this car hadn't come up when it did I would not have sold VHK to Mart & I would probably be driving round in a nice standard VHK by now.

Top hose has just got a joiner in it no fan controller.

Expansion bottle is from a Volvo 850, I am pleased with how it fits.

So onto todays shinnannagans:

Fitted the carpet set, then onto the fitting of the Rover 45 leather seats.

I couldn't get the back seats to fit without fouling the rear seatbelts, so gave up, so I am after a standard black set.

Then started the task of swapping the runners from the Dolomite front seats over to the Rover ones, drivers seat was first stripped all the Rover stuff off, swapped the brackets over as per the thread on here, then fitted the dolomite runners complete. I managed to avoid any welding & bolted the runners on.
Image
Then the passenger seat, had to weld some extentions onto the rover brackets to fit the runners using the existing Dolomite bolts.
Image
This all took most of the day, finally got the drivers seat fitted, looks very smart.

Big disappointment though, I am 6'2" and when I sit in the newly fitted seat my head touches the headlining, I reckon I can lower the brackets by about an inch, but I think these seats are just too big for the car, so a wasted day today which has really p*ssed me off as I am not sure I can remove & refit the runners of the drivers seat back to the Dolomite seat as it has been chopped a bit.

So if anyone around 5'8" or under wants some nice leather seats to fit straight into your Dolomite give me a shout, so I need a black Dolomite drivers seat aswell as the back seats please.

MSO is now back on the road!

Passed MOT this morning with 3 advisories

1 Numberplate mounted on bonnet

2 No bumpers fitted

3 OSR brake slightly binding.

So I am well chuffed, there are still things to do on the car, but for now I am just going to enjoy driving it.

Cheers Mart, I hope to do a few shows with you guys this year.

Do need to get it tuned on a rolling road as it is a bit lumpy.

Thanks everyone for your kind words.

Been having fun driving around Andover this morning, every time I park up I end up chatting to someone about it, which is nice.

Couple of problems cropped up, first I used the transit centre bearing as per Ian's thread when the prop was rebuilt, not sure if I have fitted it the wrong way up but the prop was knocking on the seat belt sockets fixing bolt on the underside of the tunnel when I pulled away. So I have fitted some spacers to drop the prop down a bit, which has solved the problem

Image

Secondly the front tyres are rubbing the front wings when cornering, I have the ride height quite low, so may raise it a bit, or take a slice of the wing lip.
Image

So having had a bit of fun, I thought I'd do a few jobs that needed finishing, fitted the headlight surrounds & nose badge, so the front is now finished.
Image

High level brake light, will hopefully stop anyone rear ending me

Also took a few piccys to send off to my insurance company to get my agreed value on the policy.

Thanks again to all on this forum who have given me help, ideas & advice aswell as spares when needed.
