My mate Cliff Griffiths from Aldridge Trimming (as seen on Car SOS recently) retrimmed his GT6 in leather a few years ago, I can remember him telling me the hides cost HIM over £300! Its cheaper to buy a car with the leather you want in it, take the seats out and weigh in the rest, thats what I did with my Cavalier, I bought a scrap Diplomat Cav off the bay for £85, drove it home from Stroud took the seats and a few other bits, (cylinder head, cam, doorcards, electric sunroof motor, alloy wheels etc) and weghed the rest in for £100! Thats what I call a result! Steve |

It's not the hides that cost the money it's the labour in stitching the seats, vinyl option still comes in at £350! Might buy a sewing machine. Unfortunately there was not a Dolomite Diplomat so that option is out. |

Tony, want me to get a quote from my chap? As I say, it was a few years ago, but I can't imagine it being that much! |

I was just flicking through some old photographs and came across this one... Taken at SODIT at Gaydon in the '90s. |

The icing on the cake for me, for the car to be on the front page of Dolly Mixture, thanks Steve for including it. |

Sorry if I've asked this before, but how do you get through the MOT without any sidelights (at least that I can see)? Aren't they a legal requirement?

There is a small white LED embedded into the main beam. |
