well i have just had the pleasure of taking out engine and auto together from my dolly. there a lot more work i have realised than working on my morris minors. all this effort just to replace the front seal in the auto and stop it from leaking.
engine and box is a lot heavier than morries too :?

When separating engine and box in your case you can leave the converter on the engine but do catch all the fluid as it comes off....

When you eventually join them back together I found it a tad easier to put the converter on the box and then bolt it to the flexiplate after the box
was back in place...

I would consider replacing the rear crank oil seal while they are apart.....not too difficult.
