Wow! So nice to see a 1300 get some love - my first one was also in Russet (given to me in 1991) but was too rotten to do save. One day, I'll get one but, with a Dolly 1500 and a Toledo to restore first, it will be a while...

The geek in me was interested in your car's engine number, ending in HEY - most ended in HE (or HEA for automatics). I found a brown 1300 in a breaker's yard, also in brown but on a T reg, that had a chassis number that ended in 'DLY'. According to the parts book, the Y on the chassis plate signifies a batch of cars that were supplied to the British School of Motoring and had some little quirks, such as the bigger diameter 1500cc clutch, to cope with learners.

I've only done one, just pushed it out from the inside, rubber and all, pushing the rubber and the screen at the same time, from the top.
I put lots of bubble-wrap on the bonnet just in case it came out quickly and damaged the paint, but it just sat there and I could lift it away from the outside.

As above, but take the filler trim out of the rubber seal first.
