:D
If you fitted a modern replacement as opposed to NOS, the gauge probably over-reads by abut 1/8th.
So don't panic in the summer!

This looks to be the seal type that never seals....lol.

Is it the type of piston where the seal fist in a groove? This is a recent replacement and I have had nothing
but trouble with this type.

I should still have a couple of reconned OE girling types withe the seal that goes on the end of the piston that should solve
your problem.

Let me check on stock and I'll get back to you if you are interested.

That's the lockheed style or other aftermarket type that I always have trouble with.

You may be able to get a seal kit for an MG midget 1500, but I always have better results
with Girling ones.

Sounds like you have a kit for the Girling type plunger, which has a much smaller hole and goes at the end of the spring rod...
and no groove.

So you have a good kit, but wrong plunger.

Sorry that's a new jet assembly needed there.

You could try changing the tube but I have never done one...

That jet is a waxstat :) your carb float chamber should have a metal tag with FZX 1339 on it, if so this is the right jet , http://sucarb.co.uk/waxstat-jet-assembl ... 12864.html ( although the listing is for a waxstat jet the jet pictured is a non waxstat :? ) and here is rimmers one ( http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-LZX1330 ) which shows a waxstat jet but is a lot more expensive ( even with there current 15% discount  ).

Sorry I dont have one to hand as I only have slants at home atm but I thought
a 1300 had a single HS6? If so the jet is used on TR7's and Sprints too.

They have gone up in price a lot lately.

I tend to keep a weather eye on ebay for bits like this but going direct to Burlen will almost always give a result.

If you wanted tp go stromberg a 1300 fwd manifold may be the way to go, but I'm not personally a berg fan.

The easiest solution would be to get a non-waxstat jet and conversion linkage.
