I think when the rear wings and axle were sorted, the garage done a respray all over and probably thought the older badges looked better.

Doesn't everyone?

Steve

PS if you need a co driver for RBRR (and yours is finished before mine) I also chain smoke and love heavy rock. Plus I'm joining CT in the near future! Next run is Nov 2016 or thereabouts, they are probably taking bookings already!

That isn't an early badge, it is the very late laurel wreath badge and therefore probably correct for the car.

That's the correct badge in the 1989 pic Alun, but the other current pics show a early sprint badge on the nose and a triumph badge on the front panel :)

I may take you up on that Steve, just waiting on driver side sill, then I have to sort electrics and carbs out. (May do the stereo first).

Absolutely fantastic restoration progress so far - such a great bit of history that you have had the car for all that time, its going to look fabulous when completed. Really looking forward to the updates :-) Well Done and Good Luck with it.

Kind Regards

Russell.

Steve, the next RBRR takes place in October 2016 and it will be the 50th anniversary of the initial run. One of those cars that took part was a 1300fwd. My only direct invlovement was on the 2006 run when I manned the Corbridge stop when I was still a CT member.

Many thanks Russell,

I am awaiting some more pictures to put up, and will go to Southern Triumphs next week to have a look.

Also I joined CT yesterday and spoke to Darren Sharp, (unfortunately I was at work, and had to cut the call short)
and he said that in the next mag there will be more details of the RBRR and around end of September early October is when the
entrants will be able to put their names down.

I have done something similar on a whim in a Citroen 3.0 V6 XM to John O'Groats and back to London at 45mph (cruise control)
1600miles 32 hrs, in snow and ice (-15) using an atlas and A & B roads, no co-driver or passengers, (on a whim, never again!).

My car will most definitely be back on the road before the end of this year, only may need some help regarding the engine due
to long term storage, and setting up and changing the needles on the carbs.

Thanks to all for the encouragement.

Hope you haven't read the whole lot, it's not good before bedtime reading.

I will put some more pictures up in the next day or so, and should be on the road early October. (I'll let you know if I'm up in Scotland)

I drive a BMW 730ld, an incredible machine, (says my brain) but my heart beats Dolomite.
