The drivers side seemed to have less degradation than the nearside.

After all these, there won't be much left to see at a meeting/gathering.

Thanks guys,

I must say that I am a very nit picky sort of person when it comes to works being done, and so far Mark is one of the
few people I have ever met who does a job like I would (maybe I should say, I would like to do).

The carbs need to be sorted out, I do have a complete spare in the loft which needs a complete strip down and clean,
if anyone knows who is best to help me, please let me know.

And I have a long list of club spares to order this month, in particular the alloy carb mounts and gaskets, I think they are 1.75 on a std sprint ?

Really looking forward to getting the car back on the road, and will meet up as the car needs a few short drives and then
some really long trips to shake the bugs out. :help:

Sprint carbs are SU HS6 which are indeed 1.75. Carb specialists such as Burlen or Andrew Turner can restore your carbs to as-new condition. You probably would be looking at upwards of £200 but it would be worth every penny considering that Rimmer Bros are asking £425 for a brand new pair. If you're feeling up to it, you could rebuild them yourself if the spindles aren't badly worn. This is something I really should do at some point on mine.

It was good to meet you at the TDCIR. I hope you got what you needed from Alun. His Dolly collection has to be seen to be believed.

Loads of pictures are always good!

I had a two hour conversation with Mark over the phone about Triumphs, welding, the world and doing some bodywork for me!! He is a top man!

Re the SU's I just got a full repair kit and got them to do the bushes at £60 per carb inc VAT, in hindsight it would have been more productive for me to send mine to Burlen to do, but then I'm set up for media blasting so I think NET including all the bits I had plated it was probably about the same price. They'll also polish the dashpots as well, something I personally don't like. I would recommend them though, I have delt with them with other cars and they're knowledge is exceptional.

Good to see you too Toledo man, and thanks for the advice,
hope it's not another year before I see you again.

And many thanks James, I wish you the best on your work with Mark, he is one of those
people you speak to for 10 minutes, and think, I've known him for years.

I'm taking on board what you guys have said about the SU's and will contact all and just
get them sorted.

Mahesh

With these later integral coil spring SU's and wastats there is not usually a problem with leaky
spindle bushes. If your car will achieve a slow idle under control of the screws chances are they are not leaking.
A quick squirt of something combustible on the throttle spindle sides will soon show a leak up.

I'd just clean them up and refit with new needles and jets. Save yourself a fortune.

Also waxtsat jets work fine on later Sprints if kept clean and you dont spend hours in a hot traffic jam.
Then they can lean out too much and run rough or cut out. Pull the choke a little to restore sanity even though
its a bit counter intuitive...

When time comes PM me and I'll tune it for you...as you're a Londoner.
