I will upload more tomorrow as I'm spending the day in the workshop. Under the bonnet is about 90% there now so you can see how much room is left or the lack of it!

Looking good keep at it, have you done the shortening mod which moves the whole selector about 6" further forward
http://the-mite.com/mite18.htm can't do the linky thing on this silly windows 10, you'll have to cut and paste it in your browser :)

Some good work there, I like the remote gearstick idea :). Can you get a push fan in front of the rad- it looks tight for a pull fan?. Where did yuo get the sump from? Is that another elusive 323 turbo one? What are you doing for fuel pump- in tank or bosch style external?

I shortened the selector shaft before I even New about the link on how to do it but I did it the same way. I'm an agricultural engineer so I'm used to taking things apart. I've fitted a 12 inch push fan to the front as there's plenty of room there and just need to wire it in. It didn't take long to think up the gearstick thing it was just trial and error. The way I've done it the plastic trim should go back on once I've 're built the gearbox tunnel.

Forgot to mention I got the sump off eBay for under £60 for a new one.

i fiited the mazdain tank fuel pump i just removed the gauge sender unit and had to adjust the angle of the pump slightly. the sump is marked up and ready to cut, while the front of the sump was missing i altered the oil pick up tube. it made it easier as you can see where it sits in the sump. the sump hasnt got gearbox bolt holes on it but you can make brackets that pick up on the threaded holes on the side of the block, me and my colleague dont think yhat it will need them though as hes put a rover v8 in his tr7 and thats only got 4 bolts holding the gearbox on and they are a smaller thread size aswell.

Going to spend a few more hours in the workshop tomorrow. My plan is to get fuel lines completely finished off and put wiring in for the fuel pump so that I can get it running.

just a quick update while i have some lunch. today i have finished off the fuel system. fitted fuel filter after fabricating a bracket. will put pics up later. also i have wired in the fuel pump. engine fired up straight away but had no ingnition lights, voltage gauge or temp gauge. temp guage was an easy fix just had to connect the dolomite wiring to the mazda temp sensor. ignition lights envolved cutting into the dolomite altinator wiring and connecting the ignition live up the the mazda altinator, once that was done i had dash lights and voltage gauge was working. also battery is charging at 14v. next step is to repair a broken wire on one of the ecu plugs on the engine.

Congrats on getting it running. Your experiences will help the others who are doing the MX5 conversion.
