Good to see you back on here.

As you probably know, Brown is still going and was my temporary daily driver for a couple of weeks.

Add my welcome thoughts too...

Lucky your clutch plate didnt stick to the flywheel....
Mine only needs to stand for about a month before I have to kangaroo down the road to free it off...

Cheers guys, really good to be getting back into this and see all the familiars faces are still here, although where's Justyn?

OK so this car has sat on the driveway for far too long unloved, even the cover was shot....

Got it running as above and took a few pics of where I am starting from.

Got a 4 1/2 year old helper too 8)

Today I had it booked in for an MOT, not expecting it to pass and it didn't.

Nothing too major and what needs doing is in line with some of the work I have done previously.
Rust holes in sills was worst.
Then headlamp alignment (fitting relays and halogens before alignment/retest)
Emissions at 8% (guessing a couple of flats 'up' will get it nearer to the 4.5% limit.
Then silly things, a brake light bulb that mysteriously wasn't working when checked and started working again when on the ramp (ha ha)
Rear brake binding on one side (well it hadn't turned a wheel for so long it was hardly suprising).
Oil leak from same drum.

Underneath, the front end is holding up very well after all of the work I'd done.
The rear end is now crying out for the same.
I'll drop the axle and get onto the chassis.
The axle used to whine slightly at 50mph so I'll look to sort that, do the oil seals, paint the casing, fit some poly and rubber when I work out what is recommended for a road car.
Generally spruce up underneath as per the front.

Oh and the home made exhaust hanger will be done properly this time as I'll pull the tank out....

Not bad considering the car has been stood for a long while. Mine needed more welding for the last MoT.

I'd recommend Super Flex bushes. They are the best. Chris Witor (and others) stock them. The entire front suspension except for the upper wishbones (brand new rubber bought from ANG) and the ARB drop links (which are original) on Brown has Super Flex bushes.

Cheers Dave.
I have all the bushes in the loft, I'm sure I splashed out back in the day and they are quietly waiting for their day to come.
Chris Witor's Superflex are the ones for certain.
Might do some in rubber to keep road noise down.

OK, progress has been slow but is going in the right direction.

Washed the car and removed the cobwebs!!
Treated the roof vinyl with some stuff I had kicking around, bumper blackener or something.

Headlamp relays fitted and general wiring tidied up both under the dash and bonnet.
This was a nice easy mod, minimal alterations to the wiring loom and tucks away hidden under the dash.

O/S cill removed on the full length incl. bottom of front wing removed.
Inner metalwork not too bad, inner cill was fine on this side.
Bit of work to do to the reinforcer but looks straightforward.
Certainly not as bad as some have had to deal with.

Big thanks to Ken for coming up and drinking my juice all day and eating bacon butties...
Sorry, let me re-phrase that...
Big thanks to Ken for coming up and doing a vast amount of work on the car, offering good advice and showing me the benefits of a 1mm cutting disc.

Didn't really have a chance to take any decent pics as we were rushing to beat the weather
Here is one action shot though....

Hope to get more done and update soon.
