Guess what I've got ???? :jump4joy:

However, a problem has appeared with the brakes. The front calipers seem to lock. I will check the calipers as they were rebuilt a few months back now so it's possible the pistons are sticking, but the pedal exhibits the characteristic of going solid, e.g no downward movement. New braided st steel hoses, so unlikely to be those so could be master cyl sticking, servo fault, or calipers.

Anyone experienced similar problems and found the cause??

Only other items were emmissions a bit high, headlight beam alignment and a sticky handbrake lever.

Thanks for the hose David, clutch seems fine now. And a big thank you to eveyone who has helped or contributed to HWL's rebirth. Superb

Have you checked the rear flexi hose? I had a similar issue which caused a hard pedal and because the rear flexi was faulty it would mean that the brakes never quite came back the way they should. Changed hose, job done.

Agree with what Mark says.

I have got to say Derek that you car is the dogs cojones as they say in Spain. A fitting reward for your hard work.

Well done indeed mate.

All hoses are new goodridge braided so shouldn't be a problem there.

Checked the calipers tonight and they are not seized, so gotta suspect something else.

Gonna be a process of elimination.

Thanks Martin. I'm pleased with the result. Just gotta sort these niggles and I'm a happy bunny.

Not any more. I can't do it.

I had someone view the car today and their lack of politeness jogged me into realising that actually I'd rather keep it.
