Post subject:  Sprint Headers

Hi Everyone,

I dont know how much interest there is but I have a Dolomite Sprint built to BTTC (and Australian Group C) homologation specs. I have owned it for many years, and unlike in some places, in order to race in Group C Historics, one must have the 'original' car, certified by our authorising body CAMS in the land of Oz with a C.O.D. I have owned this car for many years and at first it was in its livery dating from 1975 Bathurst 1000. I discovered later it also raced at Bathurst 1000 in 1979, and in other events up until 1984, as one of up to three cars in the JagParts racing team. The car was first built by Ron Missen for Ron Hodgson Racing in Sydney, and I have an original copy of Missen's confidentil specifications for the car. The car has sonce been completed rebuilt and repainted in Jagparts final livery including flares etc.

More recently i decided to fabricated asystem for the exhaust as the old cast iron box even though its opened up and runs a three inch pipe restricts breathing somewhat. So here is a picture of the headers - in three parts, we had to completely rejet those 48mm Webers and in a few days will do a final check on a dyno before putting it back on the track after a considerable lay-up. Interested to know what other think.

Hi Guys, sorry but just getting feel of this ... hopefully this attaches the picture of the bespoke headers we just fitted. Huge difference to engine but it leaned out so much had to change emulsion tubes as well as mains and airs! Seems Ok now running LM1 and showing about 12... across the range.

Looks great. Does it fit without having to chop away at the suspension turret?

Any chance of a picture showing it fitted?

Cheers

Soorry lads.... I have been away having a quadruple bypass!!!!!!!!!!! The headers worked so well we had to virtually double the amount of fuel required. Now I am back in town as it were, I will freshen engine as it has not been touched for five years and do some tests to see what power gains we get. I did do a few laps at Winton and was reasonably happy, but did not push as I was still in recovery mode...

So do they go upwards before they turn downwards to go through the transmission tunnel? A picture of it installed would be great! :)

Does anyone know of anyone in the UK that produce ready-to-fit headers for a Sprint? If not I'm guessing a ball-park figure is £500?

is 'header' another word for manifold?

if so, the only ones i know of(correct me if i'm wrong) are made by establishments such as JP Exhausts or Tony Law Exhausts.

Yes I meant manifold.
Both of their websites don't show anything, do you have any more information on them or a price?
