Post subject:  3 videos - NZ Festival of Motor racing

Couple of weeks ago at Hampton Downs, racing for three days over the second weekend of the festival. They combined our fast and slow groups so while we had 51 cars practice, we were up to the maximum grid of 46 for most of the races, given there were 5 reserves.

Practice and a scratch race on Friday. First video is the first 3 laps of that scratch race (after that it got less interesting as the field spread out). I'm on grid 37 down near the back relying on the repeater lights for the start. Interesting first few corners as I made up number of places going into turn one and then the faster cars had to get back past.

Following two videos are both handicap races on the Sunday. First one I get caught by a lot of the faster cars but still finish mid field on 23rd. Final video isn't perhaps so exciting, but much better for me as I managed a 9th, so less overtaking!

Saturday I finished 38th and then 6th. Fortunately the two that counted for points in our series were the 6th and 9th - maybe I was trying harder!

I noticed there are a few other videos of the NZFMR, historic muscle cars and F5000 on YouTube as well.

Quite a few cars from USA, UK, and all over Australia, most competing in F5000 / F1, Formula Libre, Formula Atlantic, Formula Junior, Historic Formula Fords, Tasman, Historic Muscle cars.
