Post subject: | Double Valve Springs |
Hi all, About to start recommisioning a rally spec sprint engine and one of the things to replace are the valve springs as it hasn't turned over in many a year. Currently it has a Piper BP300 cam and double valve springs. Can anyone tell me where I can get new double springs from?, have tried Piper, Kent, Rimmers etc but with no luck. Thanks Chris |

If they are serviceable Chris I would leave well alone because they are probably better quality than some of the rubbish about now. |

I would not use them again. Too much strain on the chain and tensioner and very not needed in a sprint. Jeroen |

Lots of good advice and knowledge on this site Chris from people who have first hand experience of uprated Sprints like Jeroen and Mart. Anyway welcome to the forum. |

Burton's - if you really need doubles look at their Sierra Cosworth range - they fit. Rally engine - good quality singles may be your best bet (again, size up a set from Burton's and check for coil gap at full lift). Or phone/email Ken Clarke or Rob MacGregor (SprintSpeed) and find what they use. Singles are fine for 7.5k |

Unless your reving the nuts off the engine singles will be fine If you can find some lighter valves even better , |
