What colour is your transmission tunnel?

#1 Post by Jod Clark »

Prompted by a recent disturbing discovery...
... what colour is your tunnel?

I had a Sandglow 1500HL with a red tunnel, a white Sprint with a yellow tunnel, a blue 1300 with a Russet tunnel and a carmine 1850 with a white tunnel. I have never owned a car with a matching-colour tunnel. How common is it to have one in a different-colour?

I've never seen one with paint on. All of mine (3) have been bare metal. And therefore a bit rusty.

The only painted one I have seen was on a 1300 and that was red on a russet car, all the sprints and 1850's have been metal.

Unpainted in mine and just starting to corrode very lightly on the external side of the thing behind where it attaches to the bulkhead, must get some acid in about at that, followed by the Waxoyl. 8)

Red tunnel on a carmine Toledo.

Grey on an ice blue Toledo.

French blue on french blue (redtop).

No tunnel on FWD.

Have not explored honeysuckle Toledo yet in that area, but will be very soon.
