Aubergine???

That was between '88 when Steve Wilkes bought RON in honeysuckle and 1991 when he rebuilt it and turned it mimosa.

A lot of characters (and cars!) on there we don't see any more, but two that I still own although I wasn't there nor a member until Duxford ('95?) having resigned after my first year in '88

A couple of the cars in this video (but only seen in the background) I remember seeing at another SODIT which are of note are the BMW which was fitted with full Sprint running gear and the white car with the vivid broad green strobe effect stickers on it's flanks, this car was a 1500TC which wasn't road legal but a full hillclimb/racer, it arrived on a trailer.

I have a picture of what lurked under the bonnet of the 1500TC - and yes it was still the 1500 unit. If anyone is interested I'll scan the photo and put it up later.

Great video btw, brought back some happy memories .

Yup, I'm interested. I wondered why the BMW was attracting attention.

Video is Caldicott Castle in about '93. Spotted myself in there with my old Sandglow 1850 daily driver.

Hi, thanks guys, i am trying to narrow the date to something more definite so i can write it on the tape, should i go for summer 93 or can any one pin point it more defiantly?
i was thinking more 91 or 92 because i have vague memories of thinking what color to paint mine which was about 91.

And the Green Sprint belongs to Colin (Sprintinbits) :D

Aye, certainly is mine...
Can the original pics be rehosted?
I've not seen any pics of my car prior to my ownership other than a set of for sale pics (of which, this is one).
Thanks in advance :D

Thanks

Colin - You were asking for pics (4 and half years ago now I see!) of your green Sprint before you owned it - I've got loads, since I owned it for quite a few years before you. I PM'd you a little while ago but I don't think you've logged on for quite a few months now - not sure why - hope you're ok? Anyway, just to be going on with, I once got this pencil sketch done as a birthday pressy, which I've managed to digitise - It still hangs on my office wall to this day! It was done by a chap called Ron Appleyard, who was based in Hull at the time, although this is a lot of years now!

I've managed to fix the links for Colin's Sprint.

Well done Dave.

Colin's Sprint currently sits in my yard awaiting someone who is prepared to do the work it needs to cills and rear arches to the standard it deserves...

It did have one rear arch repair panel done during my time of ownership (many years ago now!) but in my opinion it wasn't very well done because the garage welded it on over the top of the original wheel arch, leaving a moisture trap between the two layers of metal. I should have had it done better but finances were limited at the time. A great car none the less though. Is it still in Colin's ownership?
