Found some more old piccies while rooting about, this one was at Duxford airfield, and the Carmine sprint FYP106V (3rd pic) was mine in 1995/96 so must be from around then. excuse the quality they did'nt scan in too well :) , but hope you can recognize your's or somebodys old car!.

Quick update on my current sprint NFC 810T, she's at the auto sparky's at the moment to sort the overdrive not working properly and a couple of other electrical jobs i'm no good at, and then it's m.o.t time and then get as many miles on as poss before venturing down to TDCIR....it's first big run for nearly a decade :D

Cheers Neil.

HI,
Great to see the pictures of S.O.D.I.T 95.
As the old Essex rep Alan Bowker and myself set the show up.
We had lots of help from Essex members and a unique drive through entrance.
I can see my Sprint on the edge (MET light blue) and the inca sprint with the wing mirrors
still belongs to my friends Ann David Johnson.
They moved up to Nolfolk 5 years ago but the car still looks good.
It was a great show with lots to do and I remember the Spitfire fly past when cars where coming in.
Some of us stayed at the hotel down the road the night before so we could make an early start/set up.
The hotel was so bad we called it the BATES hotel.
Anyway great memories Gary.

Was this the one with the Biblical rain the night before ? I remember driving up the M11 in my yellow Sprint and it nearly being stacked courtesy of the eejit in the Volvo behind. This was when I discovered a massive leak from the windscreen rubber which filled both footwells with 2 inches of water. Bates motel hmmm, did the door to your room open out onto the carpark ?

Hi Carl,
Yes your right mate it did rain heavy that Sat night. I remember waking up Sunday morning
with somebody's dolomite in the Bates car park with water up to the bottom of the doors.
We had around 250 Dolomites / toledo's at the show so there must be other's out there with there stories.
My family room was upstairs and they had left the window open, it was just as wet inside as out.
Cheers Gary.
PS My wife just said she thought someone had a tent in the carpark.

Blimey it brings it all back now!, i think i must have been staying in the same "bates" motel as you, i certainly stayed in a horrible one that was right next to the main road and i remember someone was camping in the car park that night, we did feel guilty not offering our room....but my girlfriend had other ideas for the night   , it did lash it down all night and i was suprised to still see so many cars at the show the next day. There was also the Morris Minor club as well iirc plus the spitfires were great....Fantastic show, good times!!

Cheers Neil

Here's a couple more i found,

HI All,
Really glad we are getting some feed back on S.O.D.I.T 95,
Yes that was the hotel on the main road.
I once asked Paul Edgington what S.O.D.I.T stood for and I
was told Sprint Owners do it. (Some members always thought the worst)
Seems a long time ago, but I also remembered us having to share
the same entrance as the TVR owners club. Guess what they did not like that
at all. Keep up the stories. Cheers Gary.

Neither can I, but to be fair, they're hosted on a site I've never heard of and are over 2 years old now.
