Hi Jon
My PC shows a message from Photobucket saying your images have been moved or deleted. I would be really interested to see them - anything that improves info on the track is important. If there isn't ny problem with Photobucket, can you perhaps PM them?

Thanks

Geoff

I have similar problems with my Robin Hood which is all Dolomite 1850 as I have had to modify the thermostat housing so it clears the bonnet but I cant see your photebucket mods either. Any pictures would be appreciated from you guys who modified theirs.

As you can see from the picture above the modified thermostat housing and the copper pipe with the "T" off to the expansion tank.

I will see if I can do anything with P/bucket and if not I will send them if I can find them :bluewave:

One thing is certain.....I am not paying them.

I am unconvinced by your arrangement I'm afraid,
this is because any air bubbles from the engine won't escape readily to the expansion bottle.
(The original design had venting from both radiator and engine from the highest point....)

The later 1850s and Sprints used a different thermostat housing, one of these would solve your clearance problem
and allow venting of the cooling system as per the original design.
(The early and late thermostat housings are interchangeable.)

Ian.

Thanks Ian, I was afraid the set-up was wrong as I have tried almost everything else.

Can you point me in the direction of the newer type of cover as I am not sure what to look for.

Gary
