All the same across the range...usual Girling stuff. Generally pretty useless brakes really and well worth the trackerjack upgrade which uses Ford
stuff IIRC. But hey that's what Triumpsh were all about. We've all got too used to the overservoed and ABS ridden moderns. Drive a dolomite and you know how to drive properly...

I discovered that my recently purchased Dolly Sprint has in fact twin calipers per side! It looks as if there is a standard caliper with another of the same attached to the hub! Seems somewhat unusual - and expensive at 8 pads a time! Has anyone else used or come accross this?

It was a popular mod "back in the day" since the upright seems to have been designed for it! Obviously it doubles the pad area. The guy I bought a subframe off told me he ran his car with road pads on one set and race pads on the other, which apparently kept the brakes working regardless of brake temperature.

Should the bleed screws on the calipers be top of and bottom alternative side of the car.I seam to have an extra pair of calipers must have had them as spare s,but it seams odd not to have the b/screws at either top or at the bottom as a pair

Top both times I guess, you'll never bleed them otherwise.

In Triumph World magazine there have been adverts from the David Manners Group listing brand new Spitfire calipers for quite reasonable money.
These calipers look to be interchangeable with Dolomite ones although the brake pipe is attached at a different angle (which may
necessitate new pipes). I have not offered a Spitfire caliper up so don't know if it fits, but this may be worth investigation.

However, if you want proper brakes, contact Trackerjack for his conversion using VW discs and Ford Sierra calipers.
You will also need to fit high level brake lights.

Spit callipers are not interchanegable with dolly ones..,,the pipes go in differently. The bosses are on the castings but I wouldnt personally want to drill and block them to fit.

Thats what i thought. But as i had amassed an extra pair of calipers i got them mixed up so paired them up as to what the markings on the bodys looked the same!!Oviously iam wrong if the bleed screws are both at the top  :( Need to strip one of the other down now to make a pair .
