Yes you can get them; but, IMO.. they're not worth the money; even if you're going to do huge mileages it'll take years to 'cost in' :wary:
Stick with the additive - I'd go with Castrol ValveMaster Plus

If you're refurbishing anyway then do it but a higher octane fuel will still be better

Hardened seats are available for about a fiver each (4 needed), it'll cost you anything from about £40 upwards to have them fitted (they have to machine the head to fit) - ask around because prices can vary a lot and more expensive doesn't always mean better work with this sort of stuff. Recommendations and time in business are far more important than flashy ads proclaiming "specialist"!

Assuming they're servicable you can use the existing valves. As Sprintmw says, if you're getting work done on the head anyway then it's worth it but probably not worth pulling it for just that.

Or you could always bin the boat anchor and fit an 1850 subframe and engine.

As our 1300 is clearly suffering valve seat recession and has an idle misfire now I'm thinking of doing just that...

clearly 45 k miles wasnt enough for lead memory.

I have several spare 1300 / 1500 heads. Forget the additive and run it on normal / super until you can no longer adjust-out the valve seat recession. Then exchange your worn head with a good one from my stockpile.... even when the valves seats are 5mm into the head it is still ok for unleaded conversion.
