wheel sizes PCD ?

#1 Post by boybiffa »

Hi folks

Im thinking of getting a set of alloys for my 79 dolly 1300 - but would like to know the PCD and wheel nut sizes (basically the size of wheels that will fit my 1300)

Thanks

How about a set of super ultra mega rare Avon Safety Wheels? They're the correct PCD and have the right nuts for your car :)

Other cars with the same 4 x 3.75” (95.25mm) PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter).
Austin: Marina
Lotus: Elan, Europa, Seven
Triumph: Herald, Spitfire, GT6, Vitesse
MG: Metro, Montego, Maestro, MGF
Formula Ford Racers

You'll also need to look at the offset so the replacement wheels don't sit either too far and and rub on the inner wing or too far out and rub on the guard. The wider the alloy rim you choose and the bigger tyre you fit, the more of a problem this can become. Sprint alloys are 5.5 wide and I wouldn't go wider than this, nor over tyre a 1300 or you'll find it won't be nice to drive. Try to fit something with the same circumference and then it won't affect the speedo reading.

is a good reference and tells you all you need to know. On page 4 there is a calculator that compares tyre sizes

Wheel studs can be changed quite easily - you can get bigger ones to fit - so you can always sort that out later to fit the wheels you want.
