Am sure if this is where I think it is, all buildings are gone now and a new built Kwik Fit tyres unit sits there now. I recall in the mid 70's onwards Taggarts (previous Fife Motor Co) became the local Triumph/BL agents and thats demolished now as well replaced by newly built Iceland and Aldi next to Dunfermline FC.
Checked this out with a mate in the car trade and its actually a hundred yards east of where I thought  and is now Arnold Clark but the buildings in the picture have gone and is just an open area with second hand motors on display. Its at the junction of Halbeath Road and Linburn Road.

The Exeter post was number 18 in my series about Triumph car dealers since then I have done these.
Lambs Ltd of Woodford Green - Triumph Car dealers 19:
Patmore Bros Limited, Loughton Essex - Triumph Car dealers 19a
Newton Baker Ltd of Leicester - Triumph Car Dealers 17a
Wicliffe Motor Co Ltd of Stroud, Gloucester and Tewkesbury - Triumph Car Dealers 20

Image

My dealer directories cover the period from 1955 until 1974. I have not been able to find when Wicliffe Motor Co Ltd got the Triumph franchise can you help?

Anybody know anything about this pickup?

I bought my first Dolomite from them as a trade car in 1979, it was an N plate 1850. At the time the current owner, Ian Guthrie, was an apprentice at the garage where my brother worked in Dundee, learning his craft.

Thanks GTS290N.

Do you have any paperwork or photo related to Guthrie Bros you can share related to your Dolomite.

Unfortunately not - I kept nothing of the car, and as it was a trade sale at almost 5 years old it didn't come with much. I do remember the paper receipt for £750 cash, but when the car was scrapped in 1983 I binned everything.

Thank you a new dealer for me. That is an odd name. Looks as if the http://woottonbridgeiow.org.uk will not allow links to their images.
