Now photobucket is not really usable what is the best way to post pictures.

Use the "Add image to post facility", it's in blue text beneath your text composition box when creating a new post.
For the old way, use Flickr or some such, just be aware that those 'free' sites have to create revenue somehow, and they tend not to be free forever.
