EDIT: there is now a much simpler way of adding photos, see viewtopic.php?f=19&t=32626 Quote: Right hopefully this will work
Go to the top of the box when you post and click on Img And it should look like this [ img ] * [ /img ] Go in to your photobucket and in the top right hand corner of your pic you will see a cog, hover over it and a box will appear, one of the topics is share. Click on it. You will then see 3 sub menu's along the top of the box 1) social networks, 2) Email, 3) Links. Click on Links. You then want to copy the direct link address. You then paste the address between the image tags [ img ]http://i773.photobucket.com/albums/yy20 ... y/2013.jpg [/img ] (like this but without the spaces I have done at each end of the address). When you do it right it will look like this Hope this helps Darren Thanks Darren, that is a good explanation. Ian. |

If you must attach photos to your post can you please resize them? I've found the ideal size to be 1024x768 pixels (It might be better just to change the horizontal size to 1024 pixels if the aspect ratio is different). The advantages are that the resized photos are a smaller file size (about 300KB) and you don't lose picture quality. You can easily resize photos with the Windows paint program and Microsoft offered a free program which resized photos. |

I use 'Imageshack', you upload your pic, choose the size ( I use 800x600) and copy/ past the 'forum link' straight onto your post. Can't get much simpler than that. |

I posted this as a separate thread I thought it would be useful in here as well. Anyone who has been following my thread has probably seen the photos that I take. One example being this, a load sensing valve for a Sprint: I am a photographer (apparently not amateur any more because I know what I'm doing now!! ) and felt that taking time to produce good quality photos made me think more about the part that I am refurbishing and also provided a good reference for other people in the future if they wanted to know how something is broken down. All of my photos are stored on Flickr and are copyrighted to me in the MetaData and because they are public photos I have also started watermarking them, I'll be going through the old ones and doing the same, this is something I should be doing as best practice because they are public and is by no means a result of anything going on here. I know some of you guys have been using them to answer questions, that's great and it is one of the reasons I make sure these photos are publicly viewable and searchable so I thought I'd say this to make sure that everyone's happy and clear if they want to use one! Registered forum users have permission to use my photos on this forum (http://forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/) either by linking from Flickr or by copying from my restoration thread. All I ask is that you quote me as taking the photo if it's not watermarked. If you want to use one elsewhere just drop me a PM. To access them you can either look at my restoration thread here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27969 Or you can access the Flickr album here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/91407512@N00/810dQX Or you can just click on one of the photos. When I have finished my restoration I plan to copy all of these images to a disc and send them over to the club. Thanks all! James |

Thanks Steve, and Galileo, makes perfect sense. Thumbnail for the forum, click on the image and it takes you to the hosting site with a photo as big as you'd like to show. Perfect. |

Use the "Add image to post facility", it's in blue text beneath your text composition box when creating a new post. For the old way, use Flickr or some such, just be aware that those 'free' sites have to create revenue somehow, and they tend not to be free forever. |
