Where are all of these cars hiding now?
From the DVLA database:

Yes, it's a rather slow night for me...

In 1996 my 1850HL would still be in London, it changed hands pretty frequently at the time, the 1300 would have been in Coventry, probably still with the first owner...
1976 Triumph Dolomite 1850HL "Trevor, the Tenaciously Terrible Triumph" - Rotten as a pear and dissolving into a field in rural Aberdeenshire.
1977 Triumph Dolomite 1300 "Daisy, the Dilapidated Dolomite of Disaster" - Major resto, planned for completion 2021.
1983 Triumph Acclaim L "Angus, the Arguably Adequate Acclaim - On the road as a daily driver.

Well, 15 to 12 IS a majority! And at this time of year the sorned to taxed ratio is not unexpected! And only one is definitely dead, the other 11 being MIA. Considering that for most of these cars, 1996 was half a lifetime ago, I suppose its a pretty good result really.
Does anyone have any info on the MIAs? I notice that a couple are very recent, so they're either in trade or someone's going to get a big fine!

SORN could also mean scrapped if the owner stripped and scrapped the remains themselves as the new style V5 doesn't allow 'scrapped' unless the shell was taken with reg and VIN to a official vehicle dismantlers or scrap dealer.

Rest assured that BAM 616 V is alive and well.

Laid up in 1998 for some light restoration work that got a bit out of hand.

Numerous projects, one house move, 3 jobs and a marriage later BAM 616 V is in good structural and mechanical order but still needs the bits putting back in the right places.

She is in a warm dry garage and ran up to temperature yesterday by co incidence

She was off the road when the SORN ruling came into place and so appears as unlicensed.

meanwhile I have been to every SODIT since 1986 although admittedly VW/Audi transportation since 1997

Finally, next year, I will have had her 28 years which is actually longer longer than I have not had her. Perhaps that will be the motivator to get her back where she belongs.

I won't promise though
