Which Coolant?

#1 Post by dave1850 »

Sorry to ask such a basic question, but does anyone have any recommendations please for the make/type of coolant I should be using in my 1850? I have used blue Bluecol in the past but am struggling to get hold of it in local motor factors, I will be using water - based not waterless.

thanks
Dave

Bluecol or the equivalent type is the one you should be using. Any decent motor factor should stock it. As long as it is glycol based it should be fine. I don't think the modern OAT (Organic Acid Technology) type can be used in the 1850 because of the cast iron engine block.

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the responses. I've got myself this afternoon some glycol-based coolant, flushed through the system and refilled.

regards
Dave
