This is a great link. I agree with Mahoney though - the model shouldn't appear at the top of the plate. The correct plate is shown in the official Triumph Parts Catalogue (part no RTC9006A dated June 1974).

The closest plates in the thread are T007 & 010 but they both show the manufacturer as Standard Triumph Motor Co Ltd, Coventry, England (007)
and Standard Triumph Motor Co Ltd, Coventry, England, A Member of British Leyland Motor Corporation. Both show the correct weight in Lbs -not Kgs.

One point here, when fitting the commission plate it should be upside down so when you view the engine bay from the drivers side wing it is upside down, or, if you view it from the left wing, you should be able to read it normally. (Get me?)

I'm looking for the Smiths Industries sticker you find (well, not nowadays as they have probably all fallen off by now!!) on the heater blower unit.
Also looking for the black/white square sticker (part no UKC3490) next to the expansion tank. This has an E11 and E2 in a circle with a list of numbers underneath. I think this is an electrical sticker but not sure.
Any one with pointers to these?

Mike

Rimmer bros. list them RT1207 £13.98. I have a set that came with my new project Sprint.

Non Sprints often had "Dolomite" enscribed across the top, I've never seen one with 'Dolomite Sprint' including the 21 cars I currently have on my land (not all mine) and small envelope with chassis plates of dead ones. I suspect this may have developed through either artistic licence or ignorance on behalf of the reproducers; many models did have the model name across the top...

Not sure if early cars had the 'E' sticker Mike, from my evidence it evolved around '76...as did the under bonnet tuning data one

Your chassis plate Richie is the post VA series, ie after August 31 1979; In my opinion too aesthetically 'modern' and not as evocative as the earlier.

As mentioned in the other thread, I had some VA plates reproduced, no VAT and postage included at £8 each...the difficulty is getting them stamped to look authentic; I have a set of stamps but they always look a bit 'heavy'...

Thanks Mart. I had noticed the Rimmer ones in their catalogue but they don't seem to have the Smiths Industries one. I also noticed that the numbers in the E11 column on the b/w sticker seem to be quite a bit different to mine - and mine is an original. Perhaps each car had a different number as it rolled off the line. Not an essential point but it would be nice to find out what these numbers represented.

While on the subject of stickers - what's the general view on the large Triumph laurel leaf sticker for the bonnet? I bought one to put on my Sprint after the resto, but decided against it and now considering putting it on. I did buy two small ones which I put on each rear quarter panel right at the end under the coach line - makes it look quite smart I think - not obtrusive, as they are silver and don't contrast too heavily with the mimosa colour but from certain angles just set it off!
