Apparently if you paint it with vinyl silk emulsion, same stuff as you would use in the house, it comes up like new.

I've done this on mine. Take a look at my "resto" thread. Any vinyl silk emulsion will do. You will need at least 2 coats.

The brown marks are usually from the original factory adhesive. They were like it from new! As the previous poster suggests, vinyl silk emulsion paint is the way to go.

The vinyl silk idea seems superb but has anyone had any experience of it peeling off at all...?!

Personally I'd try and clean the headlining first with a stiff nail brush and a solution of warm water and 'Stardrops' multi-purpose cleaner.

Make sure you cover the seats and other surfaces first though just in case!

Simon

Done a couple of years ago - still looking good.

I used a felt pad rather than a roller - less chance of getting white spots all over the interior.

Emulsion paint - same paint the you paint the ceiling or non wall papered walls.

Felt pad - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Harris-Taskma ... 1239673420
