By keeping the diy clamp in place and the machined piece together,
I am able to discern that the adaptor needs to go fully up to the end
for the drive gear to be in the correct position.

Next step, remove drive gear and "o" rings for the machined adaptor to go on.

Unfortunately water boiling at 100c is insufficient to expand the adaptor enough to go onto the 123.

I left the pyropen blower on for around 3 minutes to heat up, believe me it was HOT !

Went straight on, but you have to be quick and done in one go, the adaptor
was cool to touch within 2 seconds of going on. It will not move now, any hesitation and it would
have been stuck midpoint. Which basically means it is slightly out to where I wanted it.

Will know once fitted.

You can actually heat metal objects in a microwave oven if you wrap them in wet towel:

The guy is quite bonkers to say the least, but has some very useful content.

Greetings,

Joris

The microwave or oven could be used, but the pyropen
or blowtorch don't confine you to the kitchen :D

I would use oven gloves next time, the folded J cloth
was a bit thin.

Put some braid covering over the cable, and heat shrink tubing.

The mounting screws will not go into the gap between the dizzy and adaptor,
so studs it is.

However, the stud and nut need to be put onto the adaptor/dizzy, before fixing into the car.

Removed the 123 dizzy from the car, with the adaptor in the fully up position, the wear on the drive gear paint
shows correct positioning to the original.

However, the real reason for removing the dizzy is that, it was 180 degrees out, and would not start the car

Upon correct installation, the car now fires and starts on the first spark, timing set at 10, all that is left to do is tidy the cabling,
re-route the spark plug leads, load the vacuum advance curves, and test drive.

Hopefully in the next couple of days.

be interested to see a slightly wider shot showing the cap relative to the manifold. It's always tight there even with a standard cap. I'm very keen to look at this sort of dizzy once I'm up and running.

When you upping production on the adapters :)

I will take a picture from the top for you, the clearance is minimal.

For the adaptors, if more are ordered they will reduce the price, at the moment in two's the firm
wants £50ea, sounds a bit expensive but they have done a good job on the duplication.

Some pics of the clearance (bit blurry, but taken with engine on) I still have to tidy up the power cables.

It looks like the cap is touching, but judgement can only be made in the flesh, camera angles are deceiving.

I did have a colour choice, just not that extreme,

chose the Beru on the left as opposed to the Bosch.

A disappointingly sedate colour choice may I say. :)

Sedate colour choice ?,

I thought the Beru cap in fluorescent green was the psychedelic choice, must be going colour blind

Put some values into the tuning app this morning, still no time to take for a roadtest.

If anyone has suggestions for the advance settings it would be most appreciated.

That's the euro against the pound next year but not an advance curve. Pm me your email address.
