Can you please post pictures of the linkage, specifically in the area that sits between the carbs with the inlet manifold behind? I feel that something is not quite right n mine - something is either missing or not set up right. Thank you |

Have a search in the restoration section, there's bound to be a pic there , or post a pic of your own set up and we can take a look |

Yes, that's brilliant. I'll check piece by piece because now I'm totally sure that something is amiss Thanks again |

OK I had another look. The plate that attaches near the servo pipe takeoff is missing. Does anyone have a spare one or may be give me the dimensions and I can make a replica myself? Also where does the hole in 'A' in the pic below fit? Should it attach to the bolt 'B'?

The plate (part No. 159407) that you after is not really required (I have one fitted to mine but i dont have any return spring fitted to it) - three spring attach to it - all throttle return springs. The part you require secures the choke cable (I THINK) part no. WZX1008, might have to make one yourself it similar to the one on the bonnet catch but smaller + there is one similar of the blower motor Paul |

Normally on a car has each carb it's own return spring and the mechanism also. You can leave a few out but that's for the own risk of the driver. Jeroen |

James Throttle cable comesfrom underneath the carbs and is secured via two nuts which are next to the bottom hook and that return spring and the round nipple on the end of the cable hooks into a recess in a pivot pin (your bottom red line) As for the choke choke cable I was wrong - looking a James pictureyou can just about see the lug where the choke cable secures. The thing is, as it is set up now, the thingy that has a white roller at the end is attached to the accelerator cable, When the pedal is depressed the roller goes DOWN and releases the hook that grips to it - the hook is the other end of the part I marked 'A' and that should be what moves the carb throttles. At the moment there is no pressure on it to open up the throttle |

Pauls right, I was looking at the picture wrong and it was before my morning coffee! A is not used on my car, I think its for the kickdown cable on an automatic. Throttle cable feeds through the holes in the bottom of the plate where the end of the spring hooks onto (not in the picture) then the cable end feeds into B, there should be a washer and clip that holds it on. |
