Just to keep you all informed and say once again how much I appreciate all your support in its various forms....
I had surgery om Wednesday and in some ways it went well. It was done "keyhole" and they managed to remove quite a bit of liver disease using radio frequency oblation.
A bit less positive in some ways is that the disease spread in my peritoneum was worse than anticipated and had not really shown up well on the last scan. So its now a wait for histology results and a new treatment plan. I expect to be referred to St Mary's in Paddington for that to take place and it will involve some combination of chemo and more clever surgery.
So I'm grateful that the surgery took place and that they got the chance to find stuff in time to do something about it.
I also feel very encouraged at how quickly the recovery from keyhole surgery is taking place. I feel pretty fit, although not yet up to
diving under bonnets for a while. It was nice to be home again much sooner than expected and I reckon the liver work has made a difference to my digestion too.
The roller coaster of cancer treatment carries on...but I'm not riding it alone...
