Rummaging through stock today I found a few of door glass outer seals in bags marked XKC3491 and XKC3492. Neither appeared in my '76 parts book so I looked on Rimmers who say they are interchangeable. Only they aren't, they have notched ends to go around the chrome glass channel. XKC3491 the cut out is at the left end to suit OSR or NSF doors and XKC3492 the opposite.

So poor attention to detail by Rimmers? No. Some of the XKC3492 in sealed bags have no cutout so suit any door.

What parts anomalies have you spotted recently?

I travelled 2 hours each way to rimmers last week to collect a block with no liners fitted, only to find it had liners fitted

Rimmers say they are interchangeable as I hear they now cut a length off a roll of material and you cut your own notch.

If you are really lucky, they'll cut a length longer than required, but have been known to send out lengths that are too short!!

I just get Spitfire ones from Fitchetts, they are the same profile and have the proper recesses for retaining clips that some cheaper ones don't. they are cheaper than Rimmers Dolly ones, plus they can be cut to fit my 2 door or a 4 door. (though frustratingly, one Spitfire one is JUST a couple of inches too short to make 1 front and one rear for a 4 door Dolly)

That's a handy tip Steve. None of the NOS ones I have have the recesses. The beancounters did for that detail very early in the Dolomites life.

I've tried a few suppliers, including Rimmers. I still have a Rimmer item on my drivers door, it's ugly, wrong profile, too stiff and the wrong colour.
The other 3 doors have Chris Witor items, all good (with his clips) but you do have to cut your own notch.
